Metallurgic Analysis
Material grain structure and Austenite content is checked for each produced chain before it ships out.
This is important to determine if the heat treatment was successful and the material is durable and break resistant.

Ring Breaking Test
The ring breaking force is checked for each produced chain before it ships out.
This is important to determine the welding process quality of the rings and check if the raw material batch has consistent quality. This guarantees you rings that can deal with the high forces of your heavy equipment machines.

Link Hardness Test
The surface hardness as well as depth of hardening for the chain link is checked for each produced chain before it ships out.
This is important to determine if the heat treatment was successful and the material is long-lasting and will meet the long lifetime that is expected from our ROCKBLOCK products.

With up to 1000 tons the links are drop forged with high tech hydraulic pneumatic hammers to get resistant grains and maximize chain link lifetime

What are Our Chains Made of?
The link material consists of highest quality chrome (CR) alloyed tempered steel.
Depending on the link shape and machine size additional elements Vanadium (V), Manganese (Mn) and/or Molybdenum (Mo)
are added on large chains for additional performance.
Vanadium (V)
- rarely found in nature
- mainly used to produce specialty steel alloys
- Vanadium forms stable nitrides and carbides, resulting in a significant increase in the strength of steel
Manganese (Mn)
- it improves strength, workability, and resistance to wear
- it is essential to iron and steel production by virtue of its sulfur-fixing, deoxidizing, and alloying properties
Molybdenum (Mo)
- Molybdenum can withstand extreme temperatures without significantly expanding or softening, making it useful in environments of intense heat, including military armor, aircraft parts, electrical contacts, and industrial motors
